5 of Liverpool's best performance's against Manchester United over the last Decade

Ever since that fateful night in Istanbul in May 2005 when Liverpool made the greatest comeback in Champions League history on the biggest occasion possible: The Champions League Final, they have not managed to rise to the heavy-hitting nametag of a European giant that carry around with them. Over the last decade or so they have been more often found languishing in a battle for the top four or worse, rather than challenging for the title in England, & have not been in the knockout stage of the Champions League since 2008-09 Season. That is definitely not a rosy picture for Liverpool.
While their great rivals Manchester United themselves have hit some turbulence over the last few seasons after Legendary Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013, but to just say they have fared better than their arch rivals would be an understatement. They have won more trophies during the last season, where they were supposedly rebuilding, than Liverpool over the last decade! Amazing, right?
It is stunning that how much the difference in riches of these two great clubs has become over the last decade where Liverpool has just managed to win a single League Cup, while United have 4 Premier League titles, 1 FA cup, 3 League Cups, 1 Europa League, & 1 Champions League.
At this point you will not be blamed for thinking what has all this to do with the title of this post, well I am getting to it, all this difference in fortunes of the teams has made some Manchester United fans rather cocky, over the international break I have read/heard their countless tweets, opinions, blogs, etc. on how the match against Liverpool will result in their win, or how Liverpool are not great, & how they are the best team in England, etc.
These are Poll results carried out by The Mirror for match on Saturday
Therefore to remind them that all form & trophies goes out of window when these two teams meet, and that Liverpool on any given day can beat them & beat them good here are the 5 of Liverpool's best performance's against United over the last Decade:

5. Liverpool  2 - 1   Man Utd, 28/1/2012, FA Cup
Everybody loves late winners, & to knockout your fiercest rival 2 minutes from time gets this close fought Liverpool win a position on this list. A winner from Dirk Kuyt two minutes from time put Liverpool into the FA Cup fifth round at the expense of their fiercest rivals, just when everyone was starting to mentally prepare themselves for the replay at Old Trafford, the Dutchman scored a disputable winner which United claimed should have been offside, while it was close it didn't matter as the officials didn't see it that way, & Liverpool went through to the next round. Alex Ferguson's moaning over the officials & of deserving a replay were just a bonus with this win.

4. Liverpool   2 - 0   Man Utd, 10/3/2016, Europa League
This is made special by the fact that this was the first European match between the two great rivals, & Liverpool absolutely dominated this one, their were no late or disputable goals here, just a brilliant performance that if anything desreved a more emphatic scorline. Daniel Sturridge & Roberto Firmino struck for Liverpool in each half . Meanwhile United had their player of the season David De Gea to thank to prevent them from being thourogly spanked by Liverpool by making a flurry of saves.

3. Liverpool   3 - 1  Man Utd, 6/3/2011, Premier League
A Special performance by Dirk Kuyt lead Liverpool to a hugely comfortable League win over United. Kuyt scored a hat-trick against the Red Devils at Anfield with United, this was also a special occasion for a certain Luis Suarez who was playing against United for the first time and assisted Kuyt's first goal, while also leading to the second goal as his cross has deflected by Nani towards Kuyt, & finally Suarez's freekick was not held by Van der Sar & Kuyt was on scene to smash in his third. Also, Andy Carroll made his debut in the 65th minute.

2. Man Utd   0 - 3  Liverpool, 16/3/2014, Premier League
Liverpool won a stunning three penalties in this match, something I believed could only happen to Barcelona uptill this point of time. Steven Gerrard managed to miss one of them but not a problem as Suarez added a third in the 84' minute to make this truly embarrassing for United. This was David Moyes's "brilliant" & "record breaking" United side, so United fans were atleast not surprised with what hit them as just few days before they had been beaten by Olympiakos 2-0. Still 3-0 at the enemy's home is a great deal & history books doesn't care if it was Moyes's teams or not.  The highlight of this match was 77' minute sending off for Vidic who was tormented by Suarez all night.

1. Man Utd   1 - 4  Liverpool, 14/3/2009, Premier League
This was the most dominating performance that I have witnessed from Liverpool against United as they were lead by a phenomenal Fernando Torres over a historic win over then reigning European Champions. Vidic again saw red in this match this time he was being tormented by El Nino. While Liverpool had 4 different goal scorers in form of Torres, Gerrard, Fabio Aurelio, & Andre Dossena. This match ranks the highest as this was against one of the best United teams consisting of a certain Cristiano Ronaldo, along with Rooney, Ferdinand, & Vidic just to name a few of the United legends playing at that time. While it was a statement win from Liverpool who were locked in a battle for the Premier League with United themselves at that point.
