A Love Letter to the World of Days Gone — A Masterpiece We Learned to Appreciate Too Late

Image
There’s something hauntingly beautiful about the world of Days Gone . It isn’t the prettiest apocalypse, nor the most forgiving. It’s rugged, harsh, and soaked in the melancholy of what humanity lost — and yet, I couldn’t stop exploring it. From the moment I first kicked Deacon’s bike to life and rolled out into the misty Oregon wilderness, I knew this wasn’t going to be another zombie game. The rumble of the engine, the crunch of gravel, the faint sound of freakers echoing through the woods — it all pulled me in like a heartbeat. Days Gone doesn’t rush to impress you. It grows on you — mile by mile, repair by repair, fight by desperate fight. You start as a drifter just trying to survive, scavenging fuel and ammo, sleeping with one eye open. But over time, the world softens its edges, and you realize there’s life, hope, and even love in this broken place. The survivors aren’t just quest-givers — they’re fractured reflections of humanity itself. Tucker’s cruelty, Copeland’s paranoi...

Joy: The kind that is just infinite.

Image
In my recent memory I can't remember any day besides 18th October, 2017 that I felt pure joy, just the happiness that is kind of infectious, you know the kind that stays with you for upcoming days, weeks, and months, like the kind I felt after Real Madrid won the 10th Champions League, the kind that is just infinite that keeps you on a perennial high for a long time. It was an event of seismic proportions that happened that day that has till date kept me looking at life and facing all the shit that it throws at me with a smile. So what was it you ask, well the question is not what but who was it. It was the Kid. The Kid is the reason that I sit staring at nothing and enjoy the nothingness, he is the reason that the future seems bright, the present feels like a present. He is my sister's first child . He is not my kid, but he is my kid, you know? He is the first grandchild that my parents have got. He is the first of the next generation. Born on 18th October, 2017, The Ki...

Bangalore Comic Con: First time at a comic con! (Details & Pictures)

Image
Last week I was visiting my brother in Bangalore, originally we had planed to leave for Coorg on the weekend but after looking at the current events happening in Bangalore and finding out that Comic Con was also the same weekend, I asked him to delay the trip for a day so I can attend the Comic Con for a day. Welcome! This was my first visit to any Comic Con, and what had me a bit concerned was the fact that I was going alone, and generally atleast where I live it is considered crazy to go anywhere alone, people even want to visit the washrooms in groups! Anyway encouraged by my hippie-solo-travelling-ComicConVeteran-buddy Lakshay(find him on Instgram@ seeking_shambhala ), I decided to go and check it out. It was kind of awesome but not for the reasons I expected. First of all what was great was the crowd, volunteers, cosplayers, panelists, and generally everyone involved. Everyone that I came across was just happy, & enjoying themselves. I guess all of us geeks are more or l...

Opinion: How to make shit hit the fan?

Image
I don't know much about politics, current events, economy, or most of the stuff happening around me in general. I don't know who is the president of India at the moment but I know who is the president of DC Comics: Diane Nelson, Real Madrid: Florentino Perez,Warner Brothers: Kevin Tsujihara, Sony: Kazuo Hirai, etc. That is because I don't care much for the politicians, economy, & most of the stuff happening around me, but I do like to know about the people making the things that I enjoy happen. Last night maybe the only friend that I have who genuinely cares about what is happening with people around us, & the country in general asked me this question:  "How can he get his voice heard? How can he reach a wide audience?" The thing is that he is not the most popular guy, he doesn't have a reach on the social media, he is not a very good looking guy, he is not even a funny guy, so what is he? he is just a normal guy like me. So the problem is th...

The Joys of Trophy Hunting!

Image
In February 2012 I hooked up my brand new mint ps3 to the TV & started playing one of the greatest games ever made: Uncharted 2 (Courtesy of Mr. FullPawar who lent me the game) fully intent on burning through the story mode as fast as I can, while enjoying the story but not sparing a second thought on collectibles or trying different weapons or anything but in the middle of the game I heard a sound "plink!", turns out without even knowing I had earned a PSN trophy, a bronze one called 'Cadet Fortune Hunter', I wasn't sure what to make of it first it was a digital accomplishment more like a Facebook 'like' not anything real, right? Little did I know that little trophy will completely change the way I played games suddenly what used to be a sprint from starting a game till completing its story mode became a project, a project that gave me a whole lot more satisfaction than just seeing the end credits roll, getting that elusive Platinum became the driv...
